Unbelievable to me, it's now been 6 years since my accident. My life was altered drastically because of a small error where the flooring was left unchecked as to its suitability for its purpose! Needless to say, I had a row between me, a very large steel cage and a floor that opened up causing me and the cage to go into superman mode flying into my new life! I have been left with a neck injury. The UK doctors all tried insisting it was somatisation, a good Greek word which basically means it's all in my head! Well, yes I do agree, the pain emulates from the back of my neck up into my head, then down along my spine and out across my shoulders, mainly on the right hand side of my body. I would describe this pain as extremely intense, I would say that I have oftentimes wished to end the pain, terminally. Something keeps me going, keeps me fighting and keeps me in pain! I have sought help and advice from other doctors abroad, they all are of the same opinion, I have severely injured my brachial plexus causing all the nerves to send me the pain signals. I have tried various drugs, pills, herbal concoctions, pillows of all types, sizes and fillings, but have yet to find something that really helps, so if anyone knows of anything to help this immobilising injury pray tell! I must add that once the UK doctors realised that I was not 'putting on my pain' they did a huge turnabout and actually began helping me, first with useless and very painful cortisone injections, followed by an absolute miracle, Botox! If I chose to remain in the UK, I could have access to these Botox injections every 5 to 6 months. I will say that they are nothing short of a toxic miracle, although if too much time elapses between treatments and the pain is allowed to creep back in, it does so with a vengeance! I find it extremely difficult to do the most simplest of tasks such as open a bottle, I have lost co-ordination between my two hands and oftentimes my entire body, causing other minor injuries such as walking into the door post. Some device to open jars, bottles and the likes would help matters. Some very comfortable cushion to take the weight of my head off my shoulders could maybe help.
there a quite a lot of small aids which you can purchase to help you, such as specially designed can openers, bottle openers and even door openers etc. Even down to most kitchen utencils. For your neck there are alot of different types of pillow aids to assist your comfort, whilst resting in a chair or even sleeping at night these can be purchased (sometimes as a special order) through your local mobility dealer, failing that ukmobility will be happy to put you in contact with our reputable associated companys.

i dont have problems opening doors, just walking into them! but so far i'v been unsucessful at finding a suitable pillow so your help would be greatly appreciated

thank you for your help, i have now decided on one of those pillows you have advised me to get, and am now eagerly awaiting its delivery! I will let you know how much help it is for my aching neck problem so you know if it lives up to its hype!
Hi im glad the brochure was of good help to you and Thankyou for your purchase of your new Visco Memory kingsize pillow. Im glad we were able to assist you and hopefully this will help you with your neck injury. I look forward to hearing from you again once you have received the pillow and would kindly appreciate your feedback once you have tested it
i am very impressed! both with the pillow you recomended to me plus with the speed of delivery! considering it had to be delivered from the UK to Bulgaria, notoriously slow for postal deliveries, it arrived with extreme speed! the pillow is apparently created specifically for sleeping on, i work most of the day with my pc and am a real pain in the neck after only a short time working. I have positioned this kingsized visco memory pillow behind my neck as i sit and work, the shape of the pillow has encompased and is support my neck at both sides keeping my head steady as i type, wow! the pillow has rounded soft neck support and is shaped to accept your shoulders, it says on the literature, actually now using this pillow i would describe it as quite firm neck support that is very comfortable, my head is not lolloping around as i type as it usualy does which usually adds to my discomfort i've put two photos here to show this pillow off to you! it is a tad difficult to see in the first picture just how contoured the pillow is, but take it from me, it has all the right curves and in the right places! the second photo is the smug look i now have on my face as i merrily continue my work with a fully supported head! i searched since the accident to find something to help hold my head steady for me as i continue my work, i have now found it... Thank you for your help and friendly advice! now, how about one of those bed mattresses that the astronauts use so i can really go to the stars when i sleep! lol

wow, i can't believe that it's over two years since i took delivery of my memory pillow!
this pillow is simply amazing and is still in the same form as when i originally bought it two years ago!
there has been NO degradation whatsoever!
its now 8 years since my industrial accident and i'm still suffering as a result of the injury i received
in bulgaria i take natural alternative therapies to help my pain in my neck
and at night i for sure get a better nights sleep because of this pillow
i dont use the pillow to do my work any more, but i would love to have the same memory foam to make a little 'sausage' type version for only behind my neck!
i currently use a bean bag type sausage pillow, but it loses position the moment i move even a little bit
as for memory foam pillows, i would highly recommend one!
